Refresh and renew at this secluded, privately owned rustic cottage on the North Shore of Lake Superior between Tofte and Lutsen on Minnesota's scenic Hwy 61. Birch Cottage can sleep five (Two queen beds and oversize couch) . It features a beautiful sleeping loft with queen bed and small reading area. The main floor includes an updated bedroom with queen bed, a great room with wrap-around windows, comfortable seating, dining area and fireplace. The cottage also has a small kitchen outfitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We welcome you to relax and grill on the wrap around cedar deck, walk down to the private ledge rock on the shore, read by the fireplace, or listen to the waves of Lake Superior roll right outside your window.
Within minutes of this year-round cottage are the Cascade River and Temperance River State Parks, incredible hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, the Gitchee Gami bike trail literally in your back yard, and mountain biking / cross-country ski trails within minutes. Golf and downhill skiing are 10 minutes away at nearby Lutsen Resort. There is also a multitude of close dining options including Bluefin Bay, Coho Café and Lutsen Lodge as well as the excellent pubs, restaurants and shopping in Grand Marais which is approximately 25 miles away. For those rainy days (or if you must stay connected), we provide complimentary wi-fi as well as a wi-fi connected smart TV with complimentary Netflix.
